Replacing Multiple Teeth with Dental Implants
When several neighboring teeth are missing, an implant-supported bridge is the most recommended treatment option for replacing them. A traditional dental implant bridge consists of one or two artificial tooth connected to crowns on both sides that are placed on dental implants to hold the bridge in place. A dental implant bridge may be used to replace three or more missing teeth.
When multiple neighboring teeth are missing, the bone will begin to resorb and shrink at a rapid pace. The surrounding teeth will begin to shift and move into the open space. The remaining teeth begin to overcompensate for the lost teeth and they too risk being lost.
Advantages of a dental implant bridge:
- Beautiful, natural appearance
- Patients can eat any food
- Teeth do not shift or move
- Preserves bone
